Introduction to Fractions, Decimals, and Percent
1. Vocabulary for Unit
You must sign in and go to pg. 86 in your ebook to find the 5 vocabulary words for the unit. Use the virtual glossary to look up the definitions.
2. Khan Academy
You will watch the 4 minute video on decimal place value. Fill in the place value organizer on your collection sheet. You can also learn the names of the decimal place values by going to page 90 in your ebook. Use the link from #1 to get to your ebook. Also, this video can help you if you have not found the names of the decimal places. Just click here.
3. Percents Using Hundreths Grids
Complete questions 1-3 and put your answers on your recording sheet.
4. Rational Numbers
Watch the quick video and write down one example of a rational number and one example of an irrational number.
If you finish, investigate Fractions, decimals and percents even further.

1. Surface Area
Find the surface area of the rectangular prism at the bottom of the page.
2. Exploring 3-D Shapes
Explore all of the different types and names of 3-D shapes. Watch how each net forms a different 3-D shape.
3. Compare 3-D and Nets
You can switch from looking at a 3-D shape or net form. 3 words are used. Vertices means points on the shape. Edges are all of the edges that can be counted on all 6 faces. We know faces means sides.
4. Find the Nets that are Cubes!
Click on the nets that would make a cube. If the net makes a cube it will change color! How are the cube nets different from the one that are not.
5. BBC 3-D game
Learn about the names of different 3-D shapes by playing this ridiculous game!

2. Learn more about 3-D shapes
Click on the 3-D picture on the first screen. You may investigate the 2-D shapes if you are confused about what 2-D shapes are.
3. Putting Nets Together
Look at the Net and determine what 3-D shape it would build.
